Sir Nicholas Soames will be speaking in Dartford

We are glad to be welcoming Sir Nicholas Soames to Princes Park on 22nd November 2018.

Sir Nicholas served in the Army (in the 11th Hussars) and worked as a stockbroker.  He then became the assistant to Sir James Goldsmith and then American Senator Mark Hatfield, after which he became  a director at Lloyd's of London.

He was elected to be MP for Crawley in 1983 (and from 1997, Mid Sussex).  He served as a Minister of State for the Armed Forces between 1992 and 1994 and then Shadow Secretary of State for Defence between 2003 and 2005.

He is one of the House of Commons' most distinguished backbench Parliamentarians and has recently called for more 'bold and brave' policies from the Government, labelling its programme as 'dull dull dull'.

He has also gathered an extensive and loyal following on Twitter, upon which he has developed a forthright and direct style.

Sir Nicholas is the grandson of Sir Winston Churchill.

The event includes a three-course sit-down dinner together with a reception drink.  Arrival at 7pm (for 7:30pm).

Tickets cost £35.
